Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 9:30 AM ET
Matchup: Houston meets Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium in London for an important AFC South matchup. Jacksonville enters at 4-1 after a 19-17 victory over Philadelphia, while Houston earned its first win of the season by defeating Tennessee 26-3. The Jaguars have shown an ability to win close games, but their latest victory was not enough to cover the spread. Houston's defense finally produced a dominant performance, limiting Tennessee to three points while allowing the Texans to control the game. C.J. Stroud threw for 261 yards in that victory, giving Houston reason for optimism as it attempts to climb back into the division race. Trevor Lawrence threw for 331 yards against Philadelphia, demonstrating Jacksonville's potential to generate offense through the air.
Offense & Defense: Stroud needs to maintain his improved rhythm while avoiding the turnovers that contributed to Houston's early-season struggles. Jacksonville must protect Lawrence and create opportunities for its receivers to exploit Houston's coverage. Running back Bhayshul Tuten contributed 72 rushing yards against Philadelphia, while receiver Parker Washington added 124 receiving yards. Houston's defense will need to contain Jacksonville's explosive passing plays and tackle effectively after the catch. The Jaguars' defense, meanwhile, must prevent Stroud from finding easy completions on early downs.
Trends & Statistical History: Jacksonville is 3-2 against the spread, while Houston recorded its first against-the-spread win of the season in Week 5. The total has moved upward from an opening number around 41 to 43.5, indicating a slightly more favorable scoring outlook. The Texans' three-point defensive performance against Tennessee was their strongest recent result, but repeating it against Lawrence will be difficult. Jacksonville has the better record and the advantage of remaining in London after its previous game there. Houston's improved defense could keep the contest close, making the 2.5-point spread significant. Third-down conversions and red-zone touchdowns should be decisive in a matchup between division rivals.
Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: Baltimore visits Cleveland in an AFC North rivalry game featuring two teams with contrasting recent results. The Ravens defeated Atlanta 30-23 in overtime in Week 5, improving to 4-1, while Cleveland lost 17-12 to the New York Jets. Baltimore has been effective at producing points in high-pressure situations, and Derrick Henry rushed for 102 yards against Atlanta. Cleveland's defense remains capable of making games difficult, but the offense needs more consistency to take advantage of that strength. The Browns will look to use home-field advantage and create pressure on Baltimore's quarterback, while the Ravens aim to establish their running game and force Cleveland to defend the entire field.
Offense & Defense: Lamar Jackson's availability is a major factor in this matchup after he missed Baltimore's Week 5 game. His mobility and ability to extend plays can change the way Cleveland defends both the run and pass. If Jackson is unavailable, Baltimore's offensive approach could become more dependent on Henry and short passing combinations. Cleveland needs to protect the football and improve its scoring efficiency after producing only 12 points against the Jets. The Browns' defensive front will be important in preventing Henry from consistently gaining yards after contact.
Trends & Statistical History: Baltimore enters with a 4-1 record and a victory over Atlanta, while Cleveland is coming off a narrow loss. The Ravens are favored by 4.5 points, with a total of 41.5 suggesting a relatively controlled scoring environment. The line has been sensitive to uncertainty surrounding Jackson's status. Baltimore's rushing attack and stronger overall record support its favorite status, but Cleveland has performed competitively at home and can make this divisional game difficult. The Browns need to win the turnover battle and prevent Baltimore from controlling possession. If Jackson plays effectively, the Ravens have a clear offensive advantage; if not, Cleveland's chances of staying within the spread improve substantially.
Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: Carolina travels to Philadelphia for an NFC matchup between a Panthers team looking to build momentum and an Eagles club coming off a disappointing loss. Philadelphia fell 19-17 to Jacksonville in Week 5, while Carolina enters after its latest result and will look to challenge the defending NFC contender on the road. The Eagles remain favored by a narrow 1.5 points, reflecting their home advantage but also uncertainty about their recent offensive consistency. Philadelphia has the personnel to create mismatches through its passing game and rushing attack, but it must finish drives more effectively. Carolina's path to an upset involves controlling the pace, limiting mistakes and forcing Philadelphia into longer third-down situations.
Offense & Defense: Philadelphia's offense needs to protect the quarterback and produce more touchdowns after settling for too little against Jacksonville. Its offensive line and running game could be important against Carolina's defensive front. The Panthers will need accurate quarterback play and sustained drives to keep the Eagles' offense off the field. Defensively, Carolina must limit explosive gains and avoid giving Philadelphia short fields through turnovers. The Eagles' pass rush could be a decisive advantage if it consistently pressures Carolina without sacrificing coverage discipline.
Trends & Statistical History: Philadelphia's narrow loss to Jacksonville has contributed to a close market line, with the Eagles around -1.5 and the total at 42.5. The moneyline prices Philadelphia at approximately -117, while Carolina is around -103, making this one of the week's more evenly matched games. The Eagles have greater expectations based on roster depth and home field, but their recent offensive struggles create an opening for Carolina. The Panthers need to convert red-zone opportunities and avoid turnovers to make the most of the small spread. Philadelphia's ability to establish the run and pressure the opposing quarterback will be central to its chances of covering.
Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: Chicago visits Atlanta in a game that could feature plenty of offensive production if both teams settle their quarterback situations. The Bears were beaten 31-7 by Green Bay in Week 5, with their offense struggling to generate consistent production. Atlanta lost 30-23 in overtime to Baltimore, despite getting 240 passing yards from Michael Penix Jr. Chicago's offensive plans may depend on whether Caleb Williams is healthy enough to return. Atlanta also faces uncertainty after Penix suffered a rib injury, with Tua Tagovailoa finishing the previous game. Those questions make this matchup particularly difficult to evaluate before the final injury reports. Both teams have enough playmakers to score, but quarterback health could have a major impact on the final total.
Offense & Defense: Chicago needs better quarterback stability and more consistent protection after its loss to Green Bay. Its rushing attack must help control possession and keep Atlanta's defense from focusing exclusively on the pass. The Falcons will look to use their receivers and running game to exploit Chicago's defensive weaknesses. Bijan Robinson's ability to generate yards after contact could help Atlanta sustain drives. Defensively, the Bears need to limit explosive plays and improve their tackling, while Atlanta must pressure the quarterback without leaving its secondary exposed.
Trends & Statistical History: The market has shifted significantly around this matchup, with Chicago opening as a road favorite before Atlanta moved into favorite status at some sportsbooks. Current consensus listings place Chicago around -3.5, with a total near 48.5. That relatively high total suggests the market anticipates scoring if the quarterbacks are available and effective. Chicago's loss to Green Bay raised concerns about its offensive consistency, while Atlanta's overtime defeat showed it can move the ball but needs to finish close games. The Bears' final quarterback status and Penix's recovery are critical variables. Turnovers and explosive passing plays could determine whether the game reaches the total or becomes a more defensive contest.
New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: New Orleans heads to New York for a matchup between two teams trying to turn inconsistent results into a winning stretch. The Saints lost 23-13 to Minnesota in Week 5, while the Giants played to a 27-27 overtime tie against Washington. New York's offense showed passing potential, with Jameis Winston throwing for 326 yards and Malik Nabers recording 121 receiving yards. However, failing to secure the win after scoring 27 points illustrates the Giants' need for better late-game execution. New Orleans will try to improve its offensive efficiency after scoring only 13 points against Minnesota. The market makes New York a slight favorite, suggesting little separation between the teams despite their different Week 5 performances.
Offense & Defense: The Giants' passing game could create problems for New Orleans if Winston continues to connect with Nabers and the other receivers. The Saints need to pressure the quarterback and prevent New York from exploiting soft coverage. On offense, New Orleans must establish balance between its running and passing attacks to avoid predictable third-down situations. The Giants' defense will be looking to force turnovers and improve its red-zone performance after allowing Washington to remain competitive deep into overtime.
Trends & Statistical History: New Orleans enters after a 10-point loss, while New York's overtime tie demonstrated both offensive production and defensive shortcomings. The Giants are listed around -1.5, with a total of 44.5. Their slight moneyline advantage reflects home field rather than a large gap in overall strength. The Saints can make this a close contest if they improve their third-down conversion rate and keep the Giants' passing game under control. New York's offensive production provides a reason to consider the over, but the Saints' defensive approach and the possibility of more conservative play-calling could keep scoring below expectations. Turnovers and fourth-quarter execution are likely to determine the result.
New York Jets vs New England Patriots
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: The Jets travel to New England for an AFC East rivalry game after both teams secured victories in Week 5. New York defeated Cleveland 17-12, while New England produced one of the week's most convincing results by beating Las Vegas 45-17. The Patriots have demonstrated an ability to generate points through both their passing game and efficient situational football. Drake Maye threw for 374 yards against the Raiders, while tight end Brock Bowers recorded 110 receiving yards for Las Vegas in a game where New England ultimately controlled the scoreboard. The Jets will aim to carry their defensive performance against Cleveland into a more difficult road matchup. Their offense must also improve its ability to sustain drives against a Patriots defense that has shown increasing confidence.
Offense & Defense: Maye's passing production gives New England a major offensive advantage if he continues to find receivers downfield. The Patriots also need to protect the football and avoid giving the Jets short fields. New York will rely on its quarterback and running game to create manageable third downs and reduce the Patriots' opportunities to rush the passer. The Jets' defense must limit explosive completions and tackle effectively after the catch. New England's ability to pressure the quarterback could be a key factor in preventing New York from mounting a comeback.
Trends & Statistical History: New England enters after a 28-point victory, while the Jets won a lower-scoring contest against Cleveland. The Patriots are favored by seven points, with a 44.5-point total. Their recent 45-point performance demonstrates scoring potential, although replicating that output against a divisional opponent may be more difficult. The Jets' defense showed it can keep a game close, but the offense needs to provide more support. New England's passing efficiency and home advantage make it the stronger side on paper. The key question is whether the Patriots can maintain their offensive momentum or whether the Jets can slow the game down and keep the margin inside the touchdown spread.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: Pittsburgh visits Tampa Bay in a matchup between two teams that have shown they can win with different offensive approaches. The Steelers defeated Indianapolis 34-22 in Week 5, with Jaylen Warren rushing for 101 yards and adding 87 receiving yards. Tampa Bay defeated Dallas 24-16 on Thursday, using a productive running game and a strong overall team performance. Bucky Irving rushed for 165 yards against the Cowboys, helping the Buccaneers control possession and keep pressure off their quarterback. Pittsburgh enters as a modest favorite, but Tampa Bay's recent win and home-field advantage make this a competitive matchup. The key will be whether Pittsburgh can slow Irving and force the Buccaneers into obvious passing situations.
Offense & Defense: Pittsburgh has shown the ability to use Warren as both a runner and receiver, giving the offense flexibility against different defensive looks. The Steelers will look to establish the run early and create play-action opportunities. Tampa Bay's defense must prevent Warren from gaining yards after contact and avoid allowing easy completions to running backs. The Buccaneers will rely on Irving to sustain drives, while their defense needs to contain Pittsburgh's rushing attack and generate pressure without sacrificing coverage discipline.
Trends & Statistical History: Pittsburgh enters after a 12-point victory over Indianapolis, while Tampa Bay has won two important games in recent weeks, including its 24-16 result against Dallas. The Steelers are favored by 2.5 points, with a low 40.5-point total suggesting a potentially defensive contest. Tampa Bay's strong rushing performance could help it control time of possession and keep the game within one score. Pittsburgh's balanced offense and ability to create turnovers give it a path to victory, but the Buccaneers have demonstrated they can win through physical play and ball control. Red-zone efficiency and the turnover battle are likely to be more important than raw passing-yard totals in this matchup.
Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 1:00 PM ET
Matchup: Tennessee hosts Indianapolis in an AFC South rivalry that offers the Colts a chance to respond after losing to Pittsburgh in Week 5. Indianapolis fell 34-22 despite getting 267 passing yards from Daniel Jones. Tennessee had an even more difficult outing, losing 26-3 to Houston as its offense struggled to sustain drives. The Colts enter as seven-point favorites, reflecting their stronger overall expectations and the Titans' offensive problems. Tennessee needs a much better performance from its offensive line and quarterback to avoid falling behind early. Indianapolis will aim to establish its passing game while using the running attack to prevent Tennessee's defense from focusing entirely on Jones.
Offense & Defense: Jones has shown the ability to move the ball through the air, but Indianapolis needs to reduce mistakes and finish drives with touchdowns. The Colts can create matchup problems if their receivers find space against Tennessee's secondary. The Titans must establish their running game to reduce pressure on the quarterback and keep the Colts' offense on the sideline. Defensively, Tennessee needs to improve its tackling and prevent Indianapolis from gaining easy yards after contact. The Colts' pass rush could be especially important if Tennessee falls behind and becomes predictable.
Trends & Statistical History: Tennessee's three-point performance against Houston highlighted the scale of its offensive challenge, while Indianapolis scored 22 points despite losing to Pittsburgh. The Colts are listed around -7, with a total of 44 points. That spread suggests the market expects Indianapolis to control the game, but division matchups can become more competitive when teams know each other's schemes. Tennessee's best chance to cover is to keep the score close through the first half, protect the football and take advantage of special-teams opportunities. Indianapolis needs to avoid a second consecutive game in which yardage fails to translate into enough points. If the Colts establish an early lead, Tennessee may be forced into a passing-heavy approach that favors the home team's defense.
Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 4:05 PM ET
Matchup: Arizona travels to Los Angeles for an NFC West matchup against a Rams team expected to control the game at home. The Cardinals lost 45-21 to Detroit in Week 5, allowing the Lions to produce a substantial offensive performance. Arizona quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards, showing that the Cardinals can move the ball even when the final score gets away from them. The Rams enter as heavy favorites, with the market expecting their offense to exploit Arizona's defensive vulnerabilities. Los Angeles needs to protect the football and avoid allowing Arizona to turn the game into a high-possession shootout. The Cardinals' best path is to create explosive plays and make the Rams work for every scoring drive.
Offense & Defense: Arizona's passing game has shown potential, but it needs better support from its running game and defensive unit. Brissett must avoid forcing passes into coverage if the Rams generate pressure. Los Angeles will look to use its offensive line and receiving depth to create mismatches, while its defense must prevent Arizona from converting short completions into long gains. The Cardinals need to improve their tackling and third-down defense after allowing Detroit to build a large lead. Red-zone efficiency will be especially important for Arizona if it hopes to stay within the spread.
Trends & Statistical History: Los Angeles is favored by 12.5 points, one of the largest spreads on the Week 6 schedule, and the total is 52.5. The market expects a high-scoring game with the Rams in control. Arizona's 21 points against Detroit show some offensive capability, but the 45 points allowed raise concerns about its defensive reliability. The Cardinals need to create turnovers and limit explosive plays to keep the contest competitive. Los Angeles' ability to establish an early lead could force Arizona into a pass-heavy game script, increasing both the Rams' sack opportunities and the potential for late scoring. The large spread makes the backdoor cover a consideration if Arizona continues moving the ball after the outcome is largely decided.
Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 4:25 PM ET
Matchup: Buffalo travels to Las Vegas in a matchup that gives the Bills an opportunity to rebound after their Week 5 game against the Rams. Buffalo's passing attack and quarterback mobility provide multiple ways to challenge a defense, while the Raiders enter after a difficult 45-17 loss to New England. Las Vegas has shown it can produce individual receiving performances, with Brock Bowers recording 110 yards against the Patriots, but the team struggled to contain New England's offense. Buffalo is favored by six points, reflecting its stronger overall expectations and the Raiders' recent defensive issues. Las Vegas needs to make better use of its offensive weapons and avoid turnovers that could allow Buffalo to build an early lead.
Offense & Defense: Buffalo's offense can pressure defenses through its passing game and quarterback rushing ability. The Bills should look to establish the run early and use play-action to create opportunities downfield. Las Vegas needs to protect its quarterback and give its receivers time to exploit Buffalo's coverage. Bowers can be an important matchup problem if the Raiders use him effectively over the middle. Defensively, Las Vegas must improve its tackling and prevent explosive plays, while Buffalo needs to avoid allowing the Raiders to sustain drives through short completions and yards after the catch.
Trends & Statistical History: Buffalo is listed around -6, with a 52.5-point total that suggests expectations for a productive offensive game. The Bills' moneyline is approximately -270, compared with +220 for Las Vegas. The Raiders' 45-17 loss to New England highlights defensive concerns, although the offense has enough talent to create scoring opportunities. Buffalo's ability to generate explosive plays gives it a clear path to covering, but a high total also leaves room for Las Vegas to contribute points late. The Raiders' most important objective is to reduce turnovers and keep the game close into the second half. Buffalo's defensive pressure and red-zone efficiency could determine whether the favorite wins comfortably.
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 4:25 PM ET
Matchup: The Chargers visit Kansas City in an AFC West matchup with major implications for both teams' divisional outlook. Los Angeles lost 23-17 to Denver in Week 5, while Kansas City looks to use home field to strengthen its position. The Chargers have struggled to find consistency in the early season and need better offensive production to challenge the Chiefs. Kansas City is favored by 8.5 points, a substantial margin in a divisional game. The Chiefs' experience in high-pressure situations and ability to adapt their offense give them a clear advantage on paper. Los Angeles needs to limit turnovers and keep Patrick Mahomes from controlling the game through explosive passing plays.
Offense & Defense: Kansas City will look to create mismatches through its receiving group and use the threat of Mahomes' passing to open running lanes. The Chargers need their offensive line to withstand pressure and give their quarterback time to attack downfield. Their running game could help shorten the contest and reduce the number of possessions available to Kansas City. Defensively, Los Angeles must tackle well and avoid giving up yards after the catch. The Chiefs' defense will aim to pressure the quarterback and force the Chargers into third-and-long situations, where their pass rush can become more effective.
Trends & Statistical History: Kansas City is favored by 8.5 points with a total of 42.5, suggesting the market expects the Chiefs to win while keeping the scoring moderate. The moneyline is approximately -410 for Kansas City and +325 for Los Angeles. The Chargers' 23-17 loss to Denver demonstrated that they can remain competitive defensively, but the offense needs more consistency. Kansas City's home advantage and ability to execute in close games make it the stronger side. Los Angeles' best chance to cover is to control possession, protect the football and force Kansas City to drive the length of the field. If the Chargers fall behind early, the spread becomes much more difficult to overcome.
Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers
Sunday, October 18, 2026 — 8:20 PM ET
Matchup: Dallas travels to Green Bay for a Sunday night matchup between two NFC teams capable of producing explosive offense. The Cowboys lost 24-16 to Tampa Bay in Week 5, while Green Bay defeated Chicago 31-7. The Packers' defense controlled much of the game against the Bears, while Jordan Love threw for 367 yards and Christian Watson contributed 143 receiving yards. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 316 yards against Tampa Bay, but the Cowboys struggled to turn that production into enough points. The Packers enter as narrow home favorites, although the moneyline remains close to even. Dallas needs to turn passing-yard production into touchdowns, while Green Bay will look to continue its recent offensive momentum.
Offense & Defense: Love's ability to attack downfield makes Green Bay dangerous when its offensive line gives him time. The Packers can also use their running game to prevent defenses from focusing entirely on the pass. Dallas needs Prescott to spread the ball around while avoiding turnovers and protecting against pressure. The Cowboys' defense must contain Watson and prevent explosive plays, while Green Bay needs to limit Dallas' ability to generate yards after the catch. Both teams have enough offensive talent to exploit defensive mistakes, making third-down execution especially important.
Trends & Statistical History: Green Bay enters after a convincing 31-7 win, while Dallas is coming off a loss in which it moved the ball but failed to score consistently. The Packers are favored by 1.5 points, with a total of 52.5, one of the highest on the slate. The line has moved toward Dallas at some sportsbooks, indicating that the market views this as a close matchup. Green Bay's recent defensive performance supports its favorite status, but Dallas' passing attack gives it the ability to keep pace. Turnovers and red-zone efficiency will be important in a game where both offenses could generate substantial yardage. The high total makes defensive stops and field goals versus touchdowns particularly significant.
Washington Commanders vs San Francisco 49ers
Monday, October 19, 2026 — 8:15 PM ET
Matchup: Washington visits San Francisco for Monday Night Football in the final game of Week 6. The 49ers enter at 5-0 after defeating Seattle 32-29 in Week 5, while Washington tied the New York Giants 27-27 in overtime. San Francisco has been one of the league's strongest teams through the opening five weeks, combining offensive efficiency with an ability to finish close games. Washington showed passing potential against New York, with Jameis Winston throwing for 326 yards and the offense producing 27 points, but the defense could not secure the win. The Commanders now face a difficult road test against a 49ers team that has been effective in high-pressure situations.
Offense & Defense: San Francisco's offensive approach centers on creating mismatches through its receiving group and using Christian McCaffrey as both a runner and receiver. The 49ers need to protect the football and avoid giving Washington short fields. Washington must establish its running game and use quick passes to counter San Francisco's pass rush. The Commanders' defense needs to limit yards after the catch and tackle consistently in space. If Washington cannot pressure the quarterback, San Francisco's offense could sustain long drives and wear down the defense.
Trends & Statistical History: San Francisco's 5-0 record and Week 5 victory over Seattle make it one of the league's strongest early-season teams. The 49ers are favored by 7.5 points, with a total of 50.5 suggesting a relatively high-scoring contest. Washington's overtime tie demonstrated offensive resilience but also highlighted defensive problems in critical moments. San Francisco has the advantage in recent form, roster depth and home field. Washington's best chance to cover is to protect the football, force the 49ers into field goals rather than touchdowns and maintain offensive balance. The 49ers' ability to win the turnover battle and convert red-zone opportunities should determine whether they extend their unbeaten start.

| Matt Fargo Sports | 4:30 PM Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders NFL 10/18 |
|---|---|
| Pick: Las Vegas Raiders 4.5 s is a play on the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS for our Sunday Free Play. This is a prime letdown spot for Buffalo as it is coming off a huge overtime win over the Rams on Monday so the Bills also have the rest disadvantage. This is the second straight game out west and they stayed out there as opposed coming back home and that is not necessarily an advantage, especially with the surroundings. We all know Buffalo is the better team and it has outgained every opponent in yppl and that is due to the offense that is outperforming its defense, the latter being one of the worst in the league. The Bills are No. 30 in both EPA/Play and Success Rate and they face an offense led by Kirk Cousins that has had a lot of success this season, sitting No. 5 in the league in Dropback Success Rate. The Raiders are in the opposite spot as they following up a tough loss in Kansas City with a blowout loss at New England last week. Road teams coming off OT, on short rest, are just 33% SU and 40% ATS since 2000. |---|---|
| Pick: Carolina Panthers -3.5 The Carolina Panthers come into this matchup well-rested following their bye week, and several betting trends suggest they could be in an excellent position to cover the spread against Philadelphia. History favors the road team in this series, with the visitor going 7-1 against the spread in the last eight meetings. Another key factor is the turnover battle. Carolina enters with a +3 turnover differential, compared to Philadelphia's -2. If the Panthers continue protecting the football and winning the turnover battle, the Eagles could find themselves in a difficult spot. But here's the trend that really stands out! ? THE CLINCHER: Carolina is an impressive 7-0-1 ATS against opponents coming off a neutral-site game! | James Patrick Sports | 1:05 PM New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants NFL 10/18 |
|---|---|
| Pick: Under 45 Sunday NFL Complimentary Selection from James Patrick Sports Saints vs. Giants 1:00 pm. est. New Orleans Saints GM Mickey Loomis is entering a new chapter for the Saints organization. N’Awlins first-time head coach Kellen Moore has brought in some life into this franchise. Saints DC Brandon Staley was not successful as a head coach, but the (43)-year-old is a rapid riser in the coaching world and he got his second crack at the DC role. Staley did a remarkable job turning that unit around, and he’ll have more talent to work with this season. New Orleans actually had a top-(10) defense even though they struggled to generate pressure. This looks to be an underrated defense entering the season. The Saints enter this season with some serious momentum. There's reason for optimism in New York finally after the Giants have won eight games in a season just once since 2016. Landing a Super Bowl-winning head coach like John Harbaugh is great start. Harbaugh's resume is sure impressive. In his tenure as the coach of the Ravens, he's averaging (9.8) wins per season, has made the playoffs eleven times, has won a Super Bowl, and seized Coach of the Year award. Betting the NFL Point Spread
Betting “against the spread” is the most popular way to wager on NFL basketball. NFL games are rarely perfect match-ups, and the spread is the sportsbook's way of leveling the playing field. In order to win a point spread bet or “cover the spread,” the favored team not only has to win the game – they must do so by a specified number of points (the spread). The spread encourages equal betting on both teams, as it essentially “gives” points to the underdog. You most often find spreads with half-points attached, which is known as a “hook.” The hook avoids the possibility of a push (or tie).Betting the NFL Moneyline
While less popular than betting the spread, the NFL moneyline is the easiest basketball bet to understand. When betting the moneyline, you are simply picking the team that will win the game. NFL Moneyline bets are easy to understand, but they offer a poor return on investment when betting on the favorite.Betting NFL Totals (Over/Under)
When betting the “total” on NFL games, you are no longer concerned with which team will win the game. Instead, your focus is strictly on how many points will be scored overall. You may also hear this type of bet referred to as “over-under betting.”
