9:05 PM   Kentucky vs Vanderbilt
NCAAB   01/27
  Pick: Kentucky 7.5
The Kentucky Wildcats will travel to Nashville on Tuesday night for an SEC matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores. These two programs are trending towards another NCAA Tournament appearance this season. The Commodores started league play a perfect 3-0 and have since moved to 4-3 with losses Texas, Florida and Arkansas. The Wildcats started slow but have been playing much better basketball as of late. They look to be trending in the right direction, so I will back Kentucky in this one.
The spread is currently set at Kentucky +6.5 and I expect them to cover that. They have won five straight games since starting conference play 0-2, including a big road win against Tennessee. Kentucky’s size could bother a Vanderbilt team that is ranked just #228 nationally in average height. I do not expect Vanderbilt to get many offensive rebounds, and I see Kentucky getting to the line at a high rate. The Commodores do not play great interior defense without fouling and I believe Kentucky will ultimately take advantage. Since January 1st, Vanderbilt is ranked #341 in offensive rebounding percentage and their defense is ranked #233 in two-point defense, according to Bart Torvik. Give me Kentucky to cover here.

7:05 PM   Nebraska vs Michigan
NCAAB   01/27
  Pick: Michigan -10.5
For my best free pick on the board here for Tuesday I am looking at the Michigan Wolverines hosting the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Now as I have said a million times its not always the contrarian play that the side of the dog tonight game is a perfect example as undefeated 20-0 Nebraskas is getting double digits here against 1 loss Michigan. Michigan has missed the cover in 5 straight while public darling Nebraska has covered 5 of the last 6 games. Huge opportunity here as this should be a premium but I’m gonna share this one with everyone.

Play on Michigan minus the points rotation #606

7:05 PM   Nebraska vs Michigan
NCAAB   01/27
  Pick: Michigan -12
Free Play – Take #605 Nebraska +10.5 over Michigan (7:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Jan. 27)

One of the last remaining unbeaten teams will face its toughest test of the season when No. 5 Nebraska visits No. 3 Michigan in a Big Ten Conference game on Tuesday. The visiting Cornhuskers are 20-0 (12-8 ATS) hold the nation's longest active win streak at 24 games, dating back to last season. They have their best AP ranking in school history and best start in conference play since going 10-0 in the Big Eight in 1965-66. Michigan is 18-1 (9-10 ATS) and has won four straight games since its only loss, a home defeat to Wisconsin on Jan. 10. My initial thought was the Cornhuskers with the Wolverines having not covered in six straight outings. However, the total has risen from 153.5 to 156. If you look at the average conference scores of the two teams, Michigan is 159 and Nebraska is at 142. The oddsmakers are forecasting a quicker pace, which favors the Wolverines, and I’ll side with the book's lead.

8:05 PM   Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech
NCAAB   01/27
  Pick: Georgia Tech 9.5
s is a play on the GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS for our Tuesday Free Play. Georgia Tech is coming off a blowout loss at home against Clemson by 14 points as it caught the Tigers at a horrible time having their nine-game winning streak snapped in overtime against NC State. The Yellow Jackets are now 2-5 in the ACC while playing a rather tough schedule but they do have two suspect losses against Syracuse and Pittsburgh at home but the highway is where we want them. While Georgia Tech may be 1-3 on the road, it has been very competitive as it lost to Georgia and Duke by five and six points respectively while staying within the 15.5 points at Miami with the win coming at NC State as 17.5-point underdog. The Yellow Jackets are one of only five teams that are undefeated against the number on the road, ironically one of those is Virginia Tech. The Hokies are a fringe bubble team as they are No. 52 in the NET Rankings and come in 15-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference. They are laying a big number at home and they are right at .500 against the number as favorites and this is a tough spot to make margin with a home game against Duke on deck. Play (633) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Methods Of Wagering With NCAAB Picks

Betting the NCAAB Point Spread

Betting “against the spread” is the most popular way to wager on college basketball. NCAAB games are rarely perfect match-ups, and the spread is the sportsbook's way of leveling the playing field. In order to win a point spread bet or “cover the spread,” the favored team not only has to win the game – they must do so by a specified number of points (the spread). The spread encourages equal betting on both teams, as it essentially “gives” points to the underdog. You most often find spreads with half-points attached, which is known as a “hook.” The hook avoids the possibility of a push (or tie).
      Example: Stanford +5.5, Georgia -5.5
The team with the negative number next to its name is the favorite; in this case, it is Georgia (-5.5). If you bet on the Bulldogs against the spread, they have to win the game by at least six points for you to win your bet. Georgia is said to be “laying” 5.5 points in these circumstances. Another way to look at it is subtracting 5.5 points from the Bulldogs final score at the end of the game. If the Bulldogs still have more points after subtracting 5.5, then they cover the spread. In order to cover the spread, the favored team not only needs to win the game – they must do so by a specified number of points.
The Stanford Cardinals have a positive number next to their team name, indicating they are the underdog. They do not have to win the game outright for you to win your bet. So long as they don’t lose by more than five points, you’ll come out a winner. Obviously, you would also win your bet if the Stanford Cardinals won the game outright.

Betting the NCAAB Moneyline

While less popular than betting the spread, the NCAAB moneyline is the easiest basketball bet to understand. When betting the moneyline, you are simply picking the team that will win the game. NCAAB Moneyline bets are easy to understand, but they offer a poor return on investment when betting on the favorite.
      Example: Stanford +180, Georgia -250
The NCAAB odds attached dictate your potential payout and the sportsbook’s implied probability. Georgia remains the favorite on the moneyline, as indicated by the negative number (-250) next to the team name. But, in this case, that number means something different: a -250 moneyline tells bettors that they need to wager $250 on Georgia in order to win $100. The positive number next to the Stanford Cardinals (+180) gives us similar information, with one key difference. It tells bettors how much they will win on a $100 bet, in this case $180.

Betting NCAAB Totals (Over/Under)

When betting the “total” on college basketball games, you are no longer concerned with which team will win the game. Instead, your focus is strictly on how many points will be scored overall. You may also hear this type of bet referred to as “over-under betting.”
Example: Stanford/Georgia Over 119.5(-115) Under 119.5 (-110) Sticking with our Stanford/Georgia example, the sportsbook has set the total at 119.5 points. Again, the half-point (hook) is present to prevent a push. You have two options when betting totals: over (more than 119.5 points will be scored between both teams) or under (less than 119.5 points will be scored overall).
When betting on the “total,” The moneyline shown in parentheses next to your choice determines the payout. This is calculated just like the NCAAB Moneylines above. Your focus on a NCAAB Totals Wager is strictly on how many points will be scored overall by both college basketball teams combined.
