The 2026 World Cup starts on Thursday, June 11, 2026. There are 48 teams that are trying to make the knockout round of 32 taking place in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Here are some future plays that I like.

Mexico has done well in previous World Cups that have taken place on home soil. I like Mexico to win Group A at -120. They get to play their three Group A games in front of fans and at high elevation and warm temperatures. It could be too much pressure for El Tri but I think they advance ahead of South Korea, Czechia and South Africa. Also, I like Mexico to advance to the final 16 at -115.

     The college baseball regionals are set for this weekend starting Friday, May 29, 2026. There sre 64 teams playing in 16 regionals. The top 16 teams get to play at home. The 16 winners play next week in super regionals and the eight winners go to the College World Series, which is played in Omaha, Nebraska.

      The last six national titles have been won by SEC teams (LSU, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. The ACC has two of the top five seeds in Georgia Tech and UNC but the conference has won only one national title in baseball since 1955.
