TODAY'S FREE NHL hockey PICKS
| David Delano | 7:07 PM Vancouver Canucks vs Minnesota Wild NHL 11/01 |
|---|---|
| Pick: Under 6 The under has cashed in seven of the last eight head-to-head meetings between these teams. The lone exception was a 10-7 Minnesota win on Feb. 19, 2024. Outside of that outlier, each of the other seven matchups has featured five goals or fewer. Both teams rank in the bottom third of the NHL in scoring and shooting percentage. While the Wild have struggled defensively, the Canucks offense may not be equipped to exploit those weaknesses fully, but Vancouver has been solid on defense overall. I like the under. | |
| Joe D'Amico | 10:07 PM Chicago Blackhawks vs Edmonton Oilers NHL 11/01 |
|---|---|
| Pick: Chicago Blackhawks 1.5 It doesn’t matter if it’s on the ice, the hardwood, or the gridiron, today WE CRUSH THE BOOKS in all sports: NHL: 9-2 POWER PLAY, 1-0 NO LIMIT, and another LAS VEGAS STRIP MOVE WINNER (60% 2025), NBA: 1-0 SLAM DUNK, & NCAAF: BIG TEN GAME OF THE YEAR, 4-1 BIG 12 BOOKIE BUSTER, another TOUCHDOWN WINNER, ACC GAME OF THE MONTH, & 5-1 NO LIMIT. Follow Joe D today… ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK. Saturday’s FREE WINNER: Chicago Blackhawks on the PUCK LINE. Game 51. 7:05 PM PST/10:05 PM EST. It's true, going back several seasons the Edmonton Oilers have had their way with the Chicago Blackhawks. But this is a brand-new campaign, and the Oilers enter this matchup running cold, dropping six of their last nine outings. The visiting Blackhawks have won five of their last eight games, and come into tonight's matchup seeking a little revenge in this rivalry. Maybe the oddsmakers made the home team such a high favorite because they have dominated this rivalry. But this season, something just isn't clicking for Edmonton. Looking at the statistics, Chicago actually scores a little bit more, but allows significantly less. They rank 11th in the NHL in goals against, yielding just 2.8 GPG. The Blackhawks are looking for a little revenge, and certainly are stronger on the defensive side of the ice. Take Chicago on the line. Thank you. | |

Betting the NHL Point Spread
While less popular than betting the moneyline, the spread is the sportsbook's way of leveling the playing field. In order to win a point spread bet or “cover the spread,” the favored team not only has to win the game – they must do so by a specified number of points (the spread). The spread encourages equal betting on both teams, as it essentially “gives” points to the underdog. You most often find spreads with half-points attached, which is known as a “hook.” The hook avoids the possibility of a push (or tie).Betting the NHL Moneyline
Betting “the moneyline” is the most popular way to wager on NHL hockey. The NHL moneyline is the easiest hockey bet to understand. When betting the moneyline, you are simply picking the team that will win the game. NHL Moneyline bets are easy to understand, but they offer a poor return on investment when betting on the favorite.Betting NHL Totals (Over/Under)
When betting the “total” on NHL games, you are no longer concerned with which team will win the game. Instead, your focus is strictly on how many points will be scored overall. You may also hear this type of bet referred to as “over-under betting.”
