TODAY'S FREE NHL hockey PICKS
| Brian Bitler | 8:22 PM Vegas Golden Knights vs Carolina Hurricanes NHL 06/02 |

| Pick: Carolina Hurricanes -160 For my best free pick on the board here for Tuesday is in the NHL game 1 of the Stanley Cup. I am gonna ride with the Carolina Hurricanes on the ML. I think we will see a mountain of bettors flocking to Vegas making them a public dog here tonight. Vegas also won both previous head to head meetings this season which should farther drive bettors here towards the Golden Knights. Great story Vegas is but Carolina at home they are the best team in hockey and even at -150 this is a bargain. Play on the Carolina Hurricanes ML rotation #12 ***DO NOT MISS MY TITANIUM IN THE WNBA TONIGHT I AM 152-106 59% OVER THE LAST 258 TITANIUMS*** | |

| Pick: Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 Hurricanes PL -1.5 +155 Over VGK We get Game 1 of the Stanley Cup here, and remember, this Hurricanes team is fantastic defensively, only giving up 1.62 goals per game in the playoffs. Vegas has been playing great defensively as well, 2.68gpg allowed. The Golden Knights, who are riding a 6-game winning streak, and the Hurricanes, who are looking to become the first NHL team to go 16-1 in the postseason, are both chasing a second Cup title in franchise history. Carolina—the former Hartford Whalers franchise, which became the Hurricanes for the 1997-98 season—won their only Cup in 2006 and had not reached the finals since. Vegas, which won in 2023, is in the finals for the third time in its nine-year history. What's important to remember however, players on this season's Vegas roster played on that 2022-23 team. At the end of the day here though, I like the Canes in Game 1. I think they come out fast as they have many times in these playoffs and get the first goal and go from there. The last two games vs the Canadiens, Carolina won 4-0 and 6-1, so they have really played six great periods in a row, and we will roll with the Canes on the puck line here. Betting the NHL Point Spread
While less popular than betting the moneyline, the spread is the sportsbook's way of leveling the playing field. In order to win a point spread bet or “cover the spread,” the favored team not only has to win the game – they must do so by a specified number of points (the spread). The spread encourages equal betting on both teams, as it essentially “gives” points to the underdog. You most often find spreads with half-points attached, which is known as a “hook.” The hook avoids the possibility of a push (or tie).Betting the NHL Moneyline
Betting “the moneyline” is the most popular way to wager on NHL hockey. The NHL moneyline is the easiest hockey bet to understand. When betting the moneyline, you are simply picking the team that will win the game. NHL Moneyline bets are easy to understand, but they offer a poor return on investment when betting on the favorite.Betting NHL Totals (Over/Under)
When betting the “total” on NHL games, you are no longer concerned with which team will win the game. Instead, your focus is strictly on how many points will be scored overall. You may also hear this type of bet referred to as “over-under betting.”
